Blackjack Strategies

To play online blackjack, your best method will be to find a basic strategy board and leave it open in another window (or even print it) to have it in front of you while playing. You will find a painting of this kind a little below. There is nothing illegal about it, and this will help you to reduce the benefit of the house. In any case, there are always some basic ideas that come alongside the rules of blackjack.

Strategy Hit / Hold (Tiger / Rester) Of course, you should stop there if you have 17 or more. If you have less (12 to 16), you should play as if the dealer's hidden card was a 10. You should then shoot if the dealer's score beats you. For example if you have 15 and the dealer's apparent card is an 8, that means that a 10 would give him an 18. You should stop there if there is a good chance that the dealer bust, for example if You have 15 and the dealer's apparent card is a 6 (a 10 would give him 16 and cause him to shoot). Keep in mind that this is just a rule. There are exceptions, and to play to perfection you will need a basic strategy table (see below). Online blackjack insurance The online blackjack sites offer you the opportunity to take out insurance if the dealer displays an ace. If you choose to take this insurance and the dealer turns out to have a blackjack, the hand then ends on a push, a tie. Otherwise, you lose your bet, equal to half of a regular bet, and the hand is played normally. In a standard blackjack game configuration, do not take insurance, under any circumstances. The odds for the dealer to have a hidden 10 are much worse than the 2 in 1 offered by this insurance. Online blackjack doubling You should see doubling on hands where the player has a stiff card such as 4, 5 or 6. You should always double an 11 unless you face an ace.
